1. SERVER:

A server is a computer program or a machine that waits for requests from other machines or software and responds to them. The purpose of a server is to share data or hardware and software resources among clients. Server is the most wanted tools for any kind of web development, Where you can put your development files and test your development process. For development purpose locally we use the following:

• Windows : Wamp / Xampp / InstantWP
• Mac : Mamp / Xampp
• Linux : Lamp

2. Firefox Browser:

There are many browser available for internet browsing but firefox browser has some special features (add-ons) which makes it popular to the developers. It helps developer to work faster than any other browsers. It is also support all kinds of Operating System. The common add-ons for development are given below:

• Firebug
• Web developer
• MeasureIt
• Lightshot

3. IDE/Text editor:

For website development you need a handy text editor which is fast and developer friendly. Mostly used text editors are following:

• Sublime Text
• Brackets
• Netbeans
• Aptana Studio
• Notepad++ (Windows only)

4. Some Design Tools:

Sometime we need to manage our works with design. so, it would be better if you are using the following:

• Image tools  : Adobe photoshop

Now a days multilingual facility is very common for WordPress websites. So, we need some editor to make our package translation ready. For this work most common editors are:

6. Latest WordPress package:

As we know this is the most important tool for WordPress developers. Always work with latest version of WordPress. If you are using an old version you might have missed important bug fix and new features. So, it’s better up to date with latest version.

7. Plugins for Development:

For WordPress development we need the following plugins installed with our WordPress package. Because they help us to make a good WordPress theme / plugin:
